Neal Checkoway

Director
Other than a stint as the director of one of the "Four Easy Pieces" from last year's LLT Summer Program, this is Neal's first directing assignment. His only other theater experience was an appearance as the curmudgeonly tourist Walter Hollander in LLT's 2003 production of Woody Allen's Don't Drink the Water. But Neal cites vast experience from the high drama and low comedy of his checkered career as a teacher, writer, Peace Corps volunteer and high-tech executive. After some wild rides on the dot-com roller coaster, Neal and his wife Shellie retired to Lakeside from San Francisco in early 2001.
